History Sullenberger, who became a hero after his plane glided along the water in the Hudson River, saving all aircraft flying 155 passengers and crew members. On Thursday, January 15, 2009 the world witnessed the „Miracle on the Hudson“ when Captain Sullenberger, nicknamed „Sally“ and Tom Hanks portrayed put his disabled plane in the cold waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 on board.
